Tacos with Spicy Green Chile Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
- ¼ piece onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 4 large tomatillos, quartered
- ¾ cup cilantro sprigs
- 1 avocado
- 1 (4 ounce) can Ortega Diced Jalapeños
- 1 (4 ounce) can Ortega Mild Fire Roasted Diced Green Chiles
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Ingredients for shrimp:
- 2 pounds medium shrimp (peeled, tails off)
- 2 tablespoons Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons Crisco vegetable oil
- 16 street style corn tortillas or Ortega flour tortillas
Directions
Directions for salsa:
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a salsa bowl.
Directions for shrimp:
- Place shrimp in a large bowl. Season with Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix, garlic salt and pepper. Toss until evenly seasoned.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook for 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until shrimp are cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Add shrimp to warmed tortillas. Top with salsa and optional toppings like lettuce, onion, cilantro, red jalapeño and a sprinkle of lime juice.
